Hi and welcome to my lil' corner of the world wide web (i think i'm the only person that still uses that term). Anyhoo, I'm glad you're here. This is my "family blog" or should I say "momma blog" because let's be honest...it's a blog of my ramblings. It's a place where I post the adventures of my little family and my love for food and photography. This is where I will brag about my perfect kids and my perfect husband...how they never leave their wet towels on the floor, how they eat their vegetables, and how they never ever throw tantrums. Ha!!! not even close :P

We are a normal-average (ok maybe not so normal) family with two crazy wonderful lil' kids who are good most of the time sometimes. And same goes with my hubby. They all drive me crazy at times but I LOVE them to the moon and back.

Thanks again for stoppin' by!

Happy Father's Day

Christopher drew himself and Hannah riding the caterpillar.

we're still working on our S

Happy Father's Day to Papa !!!!

Saturday we had lunch at Texas Road House, their steak was scrumptious. I was pretty pleased. Ever since Hugo found the perfect steak seasoning I have not found any steak restaurant that can compete. Seriously...I'm not being biased...its really that good, even better thant Outback and I love Outback.

Anyway...we also went to the movies and saw Toy Story 3. It was such a good movie. This was the first movie where Hannah stayed seated almost the whole time. She started walking up and down the aisle the last 15 minutes of the movie. Christopher had a smile on his face the whole time. Hugo and I were cracking up too. So fun !!!

We finished up the day at the lake with our friends, Dianna and Michael....relaxing until the sun went down.

Sunday was crazyyyyyy....it wasn't suppose to be, but it was. We went to Six Flags with our friends Grant and Sarah and their kiddos. Sarah and I didn't think it would be a busy day, but boy where we WRONG. It was so crowded and HOT. The kids still had a great time though since the lines for the kiddie rides weren't bad at all. We stayed until closing time, which was a big mistake. Trying to get out of the park was so crazy...I have no words to explain it. I am completely traumatized, never again will I go to that place on a holiday...NEVER !!!

Busy Bees

This was our first week with a car again so I made sure we went somewhere everyday. After months of being cooped-up inside, we didn't care where just as long we go. We had a really busy, but fun week

Monday - We had a playdate with Rhett, Hudson, Carter, and Peyton (Moms: Sarah and Shelley). Our kids get along so well that us mommies just pretty much sit around and chit-chat. Shelley brought the kids mini cacti for them to plant. The kids really enjoyed it and the cacti turned out really cute.

Tuesday - We went to McDonalds for lunch and playtime. Technically, the kids played and I read. We probably stayed for 2 hours. I was reading Househusband, a novel by Ad Hudler. I joined a book club a couple months ago.
Wednesday - Summer-kick-off playdate at Susan's house with our mother's group. It was a blast, the kids refused to go home. Hannah took a 2 hour nap while Christopher kept coming to me every 10 minutes or so asking for a pool =/ Sorry kid, don't think that will happen.

I really need to fix the date on this camera

Thursday - we went to the library. We finished our summer reading (25 books) so the kids received some cool prizes and coupons (free swim pass, putt-putt golf game, and ft worth children's museum coupons). How cool is that. We stayed to read a few books and for the Toy Story 1&2 marathon. They served popcorn and drinks...nonetheless, Hannah only lasted 45 minutes. The 3rd movie is coming out this weekend!!

Friday - Get Crafty for Daddy Playdate @ Jen's. The kids made a really cute father's day card and played with their friends. Afterwards, we had lunch with Ayden, CJ, Alyssa, and mommy Sandra. Christopher and Hannah played so much that they both fell asleep as soon as they got into their carseat.

They were so proud of the card that they couldn't wait until Sunday to show their Papa. Even after we agreed to hide it until Father's Day...as soon as Hugo came home Friday they ran off to him with their cards.

Hannah and Sophia (Jen's daughter)

Christopher and Ayden...and I think that's Alyssa's legs :)

*WHEW* I'm exhausted all over again.

Fun-Exhausting Weekend

Saturday

We went to a Family Swim Party with our playgroup. Its the first playdate that included dads. The kids had a blast in the pool which is a huge improvement from last year. Christopher is not afraid to get his face wet anymore. We were having such a great time that some of the families ended up staying until like 11 pm.

Sunday

We hung out and grilled @ Lynn Creek Park with some friends. There were burgers, hot dogs, fajitas, and even pizza. Christopher and Hannah played in the water and built sand castles.

p.s. the dates on the photos are wrong

Rewind...then Fast Forward

I think its necessary that we go back a little, then fast forward to today.

Hugo and I met in the summer of 2001. He's my first love...and I am his last :P
The story of how we came to be will have to wait...its kinda long and complicated. We have 2 crazy wonderful kids.

Christopher
DOB 12-23-2004 (Houston, TX)

Hannah Elizabeth
DOB 11-05-2007 (Arlington, TX)

Right now we are living in Arlington, TX. We've been here for almost 3 years now. Prior to that, we were living in Houston. We moved because Home Depot, Hugo's previous employer, promoted him to District Manager for the Dallas area. But he was laid off a year later and since we recently purchased our FIRST HOUSE and we really like it here, we decided to stay.

Some recent events (in chronological order)

  • Hugo's truck (04 Dodge Ram 2500) was stolen right off our driveway. Which left me at home with the kids with no car since he had to use my truck.

  • We bought a 2007 Tahoe I-195 ski/deck boat. We needed a "pick me up" :)

  • About a month later Hugo's boss gave him the company truck to use while we wait for our insurance $$$ to buy another truck. The Insurance is giving us $14K. Things are looking up since we only paid $11K for the truck.

  • We went camping with one of our good friends and took the boat with us. Camping and tubing is definitely a fun way to spend your weekend.

  • 2 Days after we received the check the company truck was stolen right off our driveway. Back to "stuck at home" with no car. The kids and I were going CRAZY !!!!

  • Hugo and I are taking turns sleeping in the front room with our shot gun right next to us. Waiting for the thieves to come back.

  • My family came to visit us for Memorial day. The weekend would have been better if the kids weren't sick with a stomach virus. First it was Christopher (he had it the worst), then Hannah started vomiting (only one day thank goodness), then Tasha caught it too.

  • Finally June 10, 2010 I have a car again...or should I say a new car. After about 3 months of having no car I am now a proud owner of a 2010 Nissan Armada Titanium. Its the nicest car I've ever owned. Hugo got another truck as well, a 2003 F250 4X4. Ok enough bragging about that, hopefully no one steals these cars =/

Better late than never

I'm starting this blog because......when we found out we were pregnant in 2004, I decided to keep a journal of the whole pregnancy journey. In that journal I wrote down doctor appointment times, baby's current weight, my cravings etc. I even wrote honestly about my feelings, what made me happy and what made cry. And when Christopher was born (December 23, 2004) I started a scrapbook for him with pictures and all of his"loves" "hates" and "firsts" First smile, foods, emergency room experience, favorite songs, growth chart...everything. Then, Hannah came along (November 05, 2007) and I got lazy and did nothing :( Everytime the kids would do something cute and memorable I would tell myself, "awww how cute I should write that down...nah, I'll remember" then I forget.

So why the change of heart you ask? Well, 2 days ago Christopher, who is now 5, lost his first baby tooth. Everyone loses them...so what's the big deal?? Well, we were eating hot dogs for lunch that day and all of the sudden Christopher starts screaming ...here's what happened:

Christopher: I lost my tooth, I lost my tooth

Me: Yay!!! Where is it ??

Christopher: I swallowed it with the hot dog.
OH NO !!! THE TOOTHFAIRY IS GOING TO BE SO MAD, I HAVE NO
TOOTH GIVE HER NOW SO SHE'S GOING TO GIVE ME ANY TREAT

Me: Don't worry I'm sure she knows it was an accident."

Christopher: You have to help me...you have to write me a note and tell her it was an
accident and that I am sorry.

It was at that moment when I realized how many funny, silly, crazy, amazing things happen everyday and I should start journaling them so I can share it with the kids when they're all grown up.
