Hi and welcome to my lil' corner of the world wide web (i think i'm the only person that still uses that term). Anyhoo, I'm glad you're here. This is my "family blog" or should I say "momma blog" because let's be honest...it's a blog of my ramblings. It's a place where I post the adventures of my little family and my love for food and photography. This is where I will brag about my perfect kids and my perfect husband...how they never leave their wet towels on the floor, how they eat their vegetables, and how they never ever throw tantrums. Ha!!! not even close :P

We are a normal-average (ok maybe not so normal) family with two crazy wonderful lil' kids who are good most of the time sometimes. And same goes with my hubby. They all drive me crazy at times but I LOVE them to the moon and back.

Thanks again for stoppin' by!

Celebrating Hannah

Warning: this is probably the longest blog post ever :)

This year we celebrated Hannah's 4th birthday 3 times. Spoiled lil' girl right?  We actual didn't plan on having any birthday party this year for both of the kiddos.  We asked them if they would be ok with "no party" and do a trip to Great Wolf Lodge again since they've been asking to go back. And they both said yes to that idea.

A week before her birthday we went camping at Lake Whitney.  My parents were there too and since they knew they wouldn't be in town for her actual birthday they brought cake and some presents.  Hannah was completely surprised...it was so cute.  When she first saw the cake she said, "oooh there's a cake, who is it for?"  and when we all said it was for her, she squealed with excitement!

So on her actual birthday (last Saturday) since we didn't plan a party, we thought it would be fun to just spend a day with the family and do anything Hannah wished to do.  So first we did lunch...and Hannah said she wanted to eat at Sweet Tomatoes so that's where we went.  Afterwards we went to Toys R Us to let her pick out her own present.  We told her she could pick out anything she wanted....I realize now how crazy that sounds lol but i kinda had a feeling of what she was going to picked so I went along with the idea.  I mean how fun does that sound to a kid right...."pick anything you want" hahahha....I will probably regret this when Christopher's birthday comes around because he will probably choose some expensive game console or something :/  Ok so anyway...we walked around and around and around the store...she was looking and touching everything and playing with everything.  She picked a toy that costs $14.99  *whew*  So I told her to pick another item....actually i pretty much forced her to pick something else because she thought I wanted her to pick a different item and not get the pony lol.

I'll share her 3rd celebration after some pics....to give you a break from my ramblings :)

Walking around and around and around looking for the perfect toy...a rapunzel toy maybe???

perhaps a new kitchen set or a barbie???? nah...

"Look it's Mickey!"  but no thanks.....
A new baby doll??? nope!

"Princess Celestia!!!! Yes I got it" - Hannah's exact words :)
Thanks to the lil' girl behind Hannah, or should i say her mom...the lil' girl had them in her hands until her mother told her to put it down since she had too many pony toys already.  This was the last princess celestia on the shelf!

After much explaining that choosing another one...but it means you get the pony too....she went with a Rapunzel dress up costume :)

"I want to pay!"

Papa :)

So...as you can see after Toys R Us we went for dessert.  The plan was to go to Coldstone, buy a small ice cream cake, light a candle, and sing "happy birthday"..... but that's not what happened.  As soon as we were about to get the cake, Hannah kept asking for her friends.  "Where's my friends?"  "I can't have cake and sing happy birthday without my friends."  "I thought my friends are going to surprise me?"  "Who's going to sing with me?"  "where's my party?"  "can we go to my surprise party now?"

I have no idea where she got the idea that someone one was throwing her a birthday party.  Apparently she thought we were driving her around everywhere to give her friends enough time to set up a surprise party :/  So instead of getting a cake at Coldstone we decided to just get them some ice cream.  Afterwards, we asked her what else she wanted to do...and she said "I just want to go home."  She was pretty quiet the whole ride home..and that's not normal for Hannah lol.

When we got home she was pretty disappointed to find that there was no party or no friends to surprise her.  The look on her face was pretty sad...but something helped to cheer her up.  And that was to find 2 birthday cards in the mail. One from her grandma and the other from her Auntie Theresa.

When she saw the hello kitty card...she said, "I can't believe my eyes!"  kids are so funny :)

The very next day...Hugo and I talked about what happened.  We both felt really bad and decided to plan a small lunch get-together with a couple of friends and have cake.  So today she got her party!!!  Thank you for coming friends and for the awesome presents!!! And a big thank you for Papa, he prepared the meal...bbq brisket, ribs, sausage.  They were delicious!

happy birthday Hannah from glenda on Vimeo.

I had planned on taking plenty of photos during the party...but failed..because i was too busy enjoying myself.  It was a beautiful day...all the kids played so well together....dads were in the living room watching the cowboys game...moms in the backyard relaxing and chattin'  :)

Here's some "before the party" shots of Hannah.

First Ever Pumpkin Carving Experience

The kids and I have never carved a jack-o-lantern EVER!  Crazy huh?  My family are not Halloween fans at all so growing up we were never allowed to do anything associated with it.  My brother and I were not allowed to trick-or-treat, but some years we did it sneakingly...telling our parents we were just going to a friends house LOL.... I think my parents know that by now.  If they didn't, they do now :P

Honestly....after watching Hugo dig out pumpkin guts, I don't think i'm missing out on anything big haha.  But it was really fun to see the kids faces...especially when we lit up the candle.

We browsed the internet and let the kids choose the pattern.  Christopher wanted a scary face and Hannah wanted Mickey Mouse. Thank you to our friend Payten for the pumpkins.  She invited us to her birthday party at Country Critters and these pumpkins were party favors along with a bucket full of yummy goodies :)

Now on a way different subject....
This past weekend Christopher's school had their annual Fall Festival. My friend Michelle convinced me I should do a vendor table and advertise my photography.  I decided to give it a try...and here is some pics of my table.  It was kinda a last minute setup :)

Yay to a 4 day weekend !!!

We're kickin' off this 4 day weekend right :)  It's gonna be a fun-busy weekend with 2 birthday parties and we're starting it off with a bang.  We had time to kill before Christopher had to go to his Tae Kwondo class and Hannah suggested we baked some brownies....so we did.  They were having so much mixing the batter that I had to grab my camera and take a few shots of them.  I just love everyday shots like these :)

I bought this solely for the 2 box top LOL, but it turned out to be one of the best store-box brownies I've ever had.  Betty Crocker is da' bomb :)  Seriously, we devoured that thing in minutes!

While Papa took Christopher to Tae Kwondo... Hannah and I hung out in the backyard, just enjoying the breeze.  I can watch this girl play out there forever....I just wish our backyard was a lil' more prettier and greener :)

Pumpkin Patch Playdate

Windy, bright, sunny, pumpkins, and fun.  Those are the words that best describe today's playdate with our mom's group at St John's Church pumpkin patch.  They had story time for the kids and a goodie bag with their very own pumpkin to take home :)

Hannah with her buddy Cayden :)

I just love love love this girl <3
