Hi and welcome to my lil' corner of the world wide web (i think i'm the only person that still uses that term). Anyhoo, I'm glad you're here. This is my "family blog" or should I say "momma blog" because let's be honest...it's a blog of my ramblings. It's a place where I post the adventures of my little family and my love for food and photography. This is where I will brag about my perfect kids and my perfect husband...how they never leave their wet towels on the floor, how they eat their vegetables, and how they never ever throw tantrums. Ha!!! not even close :P

We are a normal-average (ok maybe not so normal) family with two crazy wonderful lil' kids who are good most of the time sometimes. And same goes with my hubby. They all drive me crazy at times but I LOVE them to the moon and back.

Thanks again for stoppin' by!

TJE School's Student Of The Week

**Warning this is a bragging blog post** hehehe

This week was 'Report Card Week'
We are so proud of Christopher, because not only did he have a TERRIFIC report card...he came home with a note stating that he was chosen as the school's student of the week. We were so impressed with that letter because for a second I thought it said "class student of the week" then I realized it was "school's student"...my first response was "Wow...how???" hahaha

His name was on the school's marquee...and you know me, I just had to snap a pic or two of Christopher next to it. And when I walked him to class (yes I was my son to class sometimes) I saw that there was a bulletin board dedicated to the "student of the week" at the entrance so I had to take a couple of pics of him :)

What's the big deal about Kindergarten report cards???

Well, at the beginning of the school year and during the firs parent teacher orientation the parents were told that we shouldn't expect much at this time. The grades are from 1-4 (4 masters concept on his own; 1 doesn't understand or grasped the concept...something like that). The teacher told us that Kindergarten kids will normally/usually receive 1s and 2s...until their last report card where they have learned everything and will receive 3s and 4s.

So knowing that, I honestly expected to see 1-2 on his first report card...but instead I saw mostly 3-4s. There was maybe around 10-15 graded criteria and Christopher received two 2s and the rest 3-4s. And at our first parent teacher conference his teacher told us how much she enjoys Christopher in his class and that he was a smart cookie...and doing an exceptional job. I almost started tearing up when she told me all that. It makes me so happy that his first year of school and that he's doing good.

Ok enough braggin' about Christopher....well, I warned you :)

Catching up - Part 5 (Hannah's Birthday)

Hannah turned 3 on November 5 !!!

I made her a lil' something *sniff-sniff* (happy tears)
I can't believe she's 3 already.

Wow...hmmm...where do I start. She has such a personality...she literally rules the house, but she is also the sweetest lil' girl ever. She is definitely and mommy's girl. Hannah loves to cuddle and give kisses and she is soooo funny. Sometimes I think there's a teenager inside that lil' body. I don't even know if i'm making sense right now...I'm babbling again. All I know is I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Hannah Banana !!!!

The night before I laid out her birthday present (Dora talking doll house and a bunch of my little ponys) on the living room floor. We surprised her with a birthday song as soon as she woke up. At first she was grumpy but as soon as she walked into the living room her eyes lit up and she had the biggest smile...it was definitely a Kodak moment. I took pictures and recorded a small video of it...which I will post soon..I hope...if I don't forget :P
This year we are having a combo birthday party for Hannah and Christopher. So on her actually birthday we didn't do much. We had a playdate in the morning...then after we went to celebrate at McDonalds with Sandra and Julie, and their kiddos. Sandra bought her these cute monkey house slippers and the matching beanie. I wish they made it in my size too !!

Some Hannah updates...as of today she is potty trained ! YAY !!! I think she would have gotten it down a long time ago...but I was too lazy to work on it right away...so blame it on Mom :)

She's still not getting her colors...we work on it all the time but she just doesn't get it right now...gosh I hope she's not color blind. I remember Christopher got his colors down way before he turned 3. But she did start talking earlier...each kid is different so I won't worry about it so much right now. But if she doesn't get it by the time she turns 4...

Catching up - Part 4

Halloween Weekend

Friday, we had a Halloween party playdate with our mom's group. Christopher was in school so it was just me and Hannah. I hate that he has to miss all the fun playdates...and so does he. I try not to talk about it in front of him, but whenever he sees pictures he always asks me "How come I can't go?" And all I can say is "well, you're too busy having fun in school."

Sunday, we started the night at the Crossroads Church Fall Festival. All I can say is.."WOW that church is big" There were so many people there and so many activities. They must have had over a dozen bounce houses. There was also a car show. The kids enjoyed it...but it was much too crowded for my taste.

Afterwards, we went trick-or-treating !!!
This year Christopher dressed up in his hunting gear and Hannah was a butterfly fairy princess.

Catching up - Part 3

Fort Worth Stockyards.

This was a good/bad day. The positive, everyone enjoyed walking around and sightseeing...it's such an interesting place, can't believe we never went before. The negative, Christopher got really sick while we were there...and the sickness lasted a whole week :(
